According to Andrew Sandoval's
The Monkees: The Day-by-Day Story of the 60s TV Pop Sensation, "Hillbilly Honeymoon" - the thirty-ninth episode of
The Monkees series (and the seventh of the second season) - was broadcast fifty years ago to-day (23 October 1967). It was written by Peter Meyerson, directed by James Frawley, and featured the song "Papa Gene's Blues." Sandoval describes the plot as: "Davy is caught in the middle of a family feud and once again threatened with the prospect of marriage."
